|   | Homework Centers In order to feel confident, do their best, and be productive during homework time, every child needs a homework center, a place where they feel comfortable and can call their own. Weather your child's homework center takes the form of a traditional desk setting or a versatile mobile homework center needs to be stocked with all of the supplies they may need, have bright light, and be organized in order for your child to truly take advantage of and make the most of each minute of studying. Younger Child Homework Center at Home Your biggest battle with your younger child is just getting them to sit still, so let’s make sure you have a spot at your house that will help your child focus on homework. Supplies-wise, you will need things that are similar to what your child is using in school. Make sure you watch out and purchase these key items: • Either a Boy Themed Desk Set or a Girl Themed Desk Set • Both Jumbo and Regular Old #2 Pencils (Try these dual-ended color / graphite pencils, so you kids can color and write without having to switch pencils). Young children often need big pencils because they are still developing their fine motor skills. • Handwriting Paper and Wide-ruled Homework Paper • Children’s Talking Dictionary With Spell Corrector • Filing System for Mom for important documents such as immunization records, school records, school notices, and completed assignments. • Mead Five Star Flex Hybrid NoteBinder™ • Timer Homework Timer / Clock
Homework Centers For Older Children Surveys of t’weens and teens show that they are very interested in being able to do homework wherever they want. We get that, but we fight it because they leave their stuff all over the house, lose things, aren’t sitting up and using good light, so we have come up with two homework centers for the older set…a mobile homework center, for when they are on the go, and a homework center for their favorite studying spot when they are at home. Older Child Homework Center at Home • Either a Boy Themed Desk Set or a Girl Themed Desk Set • Crayola Total Tools school supples. This set includes great items kids love to use, such as erasable highlighters and pencils and colored pencils combined. • Wide-ruled Homework Paper and Graph Paper • Technology Safety Organizer to provide a safe place for all cords and to ensure the space is ergonomic for your child • Free Knowledge Essentials Daily Assignment Sheet • Children’s Talking Dictionary With Spell Corrector
Mobile Homework Center for Older Children • Supplies: mimic the same functions as desk but in organized, mobile way. Supplies such as Colored Paper Clips , #2 Pencils and Colored Pencils (Try these dual-ended color / graphite pencils, so you kids can color and write without having to switch pencils), Cool Pens, Fun Color Pencil Top Erasers should be kept in mobile containers such as the Five Star® Sound Accessory Case . • Mead: Five Star Class2Class® are great organizers and help your child keep all of their important documents together and close at hand. It also has sections to keep Blank Homework Paper and Graph Paper . • Mead: Five Star Durafiler® in an excellent mobile filing system for older kids with color-coded filing options makes organization and storing quick, easy, and fun. • Mead: Five Star Flex Weekly Assignment Book™ or some other mobile calendar will keep your kids up-to-date while on the move. • Free Knowledge Essentials Daily Assignment Sheet • Check out these Fun , Funky , and Functional laptop / school bags that organize all of your child’s supplies so they don’t lose anything as they move from one place to another.
